The Risk Review Team Leader will build, develop, and lead an engaging group of employees into a high performing team that demonstrates a drive for results towards performance and business goals. The Team Leader will have the skills to work with key performance indicators (KPIs) and can analyze data reports to effectively improve business goals and performance on an individual and/or team basis. The Leader will develop employees' behaviors and competencies with focus on individual goals per employee. As a Risk function the team leader will ensure their investigators are well equipped to make appropriate decision whilst processing claims or appeals for our customers balancing the risk against customer experience. As a Risk Review Team Leader, it is important to be able to establish working relationships with peers and collaborative partners across the business. Fostering an open collaborative environment within the direct team and beyond to generate feedback and innovative ideas for the future of the business. They will have the ability to be agile while supporting drives for team initiatives through collaboration, effective & timely communication, and align with PayPal’s mission, values, and culture.


  • Build, develop, and lead a highly responsive team that drives innovation, problem resolution, and strong knowledge skills across all of Risk Investigations disciplines.  

  • Review, communicate, and provide feedback around daily volumes, performance metrics, quality, and behavior expectations at the individual and team level. 

  • Prepare and lead business reviews and engage in critical thinking to enhance the accuracy and performance of End-to-End teams. 

  • Schedule, prepare and lead 1:1 coaching/development sessions tailored to your teammate. 

  • Utilize formal correction action procedures as required. 

  • Demonstrate advanced level risk knowledge by working cases and escalations as required. 

  • Ensure team sessions are focused on, yet not limited to, engagement, training, knowledge gaps, and/or developmental needs of the team. 

  • Perform Quality Reviews for functional area on decision quality, policy adherence, efficiency, feedback, and communication. 

  • Establish working relationships throughout the organization to ensure open information sharing and collaboration. 

  • Ensure proactive communication and feedback on key areas; not limited to, risk, customer experience, tools, process, policy, and product changes while driving efficiencies and improvement opportunities. 

  • Participate in new hire training, mentoring, performance calibrations, teammate selection, internal talent movement, and training needs assessments.

  • Proficiency in external systems (Internet, Office Applications), and knowledge of applicable or relevant internal systems and software.

Minimum Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience.  

  • 2+ years of relevant Risk Identification / Mitigation / Operations experience in PayPal or similar company. 

  • 2+ years of People Management and Leadership experience.
