The PayPal Global Collections team is responsible for ensuring the integrity of our revenue stream, allowing the business continued growth and market expansion.  The primary objective is to reduce loss and collection expense globally.  The Global Collections Program Manager will oversee strategic programs that expand the reach and capability of Collections across the suite of Paypal brands and geographies.

In this new role the Collections Program Manager will have the responsibility of working with teams across Collections and the broader PayPal enterprise to deliver initiatives that enable the strategic objectives of the organization. You will work with business, product, technology, and collections leaders to identify programs and strategies as part of a pipeline of opportunities; develop detailed execution plans and collaborate with teams across PayPal to protect and enhance our brand. This role is key to the continued success of Global Collections as we continue to expand, making a significant contribution to PayPal overall.

This opportunity seeks to leverage the existing organization structure to provide a compelling, coordinated and controlled service offering across the organization and ensure that Collections is the go-to team providing a focused and valuable enterprise solution.  The ideal candidate should have strong organizational skills and the ability to build a detailed understanding of collections, leading programs end to end.

Job Scope:

  • Lead effort on programs that expand the reach and capability of Global Collections across the suite of Paypal brands and geographies
  • Leverage the existing organization structure to provide a compelling, coordinated, and controlled service offering across the enterprise
  • Partner on the strategic direction of programs with internal business leaders, product, technology leadership on transformational efforts
  • Deliver a focused and valuable enterprise solution through program delivery in these unprecedented times; be a leader to stakeholder teams
  • Contribute to the strategic planning efforts for both Collections, Global Credit Risk Seller Risk & Collections (GCSC) and Risk & Platform.  Proactive input is critical in setting our roadmap to meet the need of customers
  • Strive to minimize exposure to risk across all relevant products and markets
  • Leverage scale, performance, and pricing as well as create organization/ expense efficiency
  • Frequently interface with leaders within and outside of your immediate team
  • Establish working relationships that enable self-direction in gathering requirements and scoping work
  • Be the point of contact for program escalations
  • Ensure measurable KPIs are developed for the program, and that they align to the overall KPIs for Global Collections
  • Identify program impediments and develop mitigation places to resolve including appropriate escalation to individuals/groups as needed
  • Lead program retrospectives and commitment to improvement on regular cadences.

  • Business Acumen: Solid understanding of how the Collections businesses operates (both internal and external) including current and possible future business trends and information. Strong awareness of how any given program will positively impact the enterprise
  • Problem Solving: Be Innovative. Ability to derive creative solutions to help stakeholder groups and the program remove barriers to deliver success. Develop and present varied and unique approaches to help teams meet their goals
  • Strategic Planning: Anticipate future consequences and trends accurately. Paint a credible picture of possibilities and approaches to achieve goals and mitigate consequences
  • Comfort around Senior Management: Deals comfortably with Senior Director and VP level stakeholders. Understands how senior managers think and work. Ability to adjust communications to Executive audiences, broad stakeholder audiences, and working teams as appropriate
  • Negotiating: Reaches appropriate resolution across peers and extended teams in many varied situations without damaging internal or external relationships.

Typical Background Guidelines:

  • BS/BA degree required.
  • Organization Transformation/ Change Management experience required.
  • 10+ years professional related experience required or transferrable skills
  • Experience with agile software development program management
  • Prior track record of leading transformation efforts
  • Strong communication skills at multiple levels of the corporate structure
  • Ability to build strong relationships to achieve outcomes within a matrixed structure.
