The First Line of Defense (FLOD) Internal Program Manager in the FLOD Center of Excellence (COE) will be responsible for the day-to-day support of risk management activities across multiple business units. Specifically, this person will be responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and execution of programs and initiatives within the first line teams to support all applicable policy requirements. This person should be able to interact successfully at all levels of the company, from individual contributors to executive management. This person should have a proven ability to influence and make key decisions - and thrive - in a highly matrixed environment. This role will require a strong partnership across separate functional areas, lines of business and support areas (business owners, risk owners, etc.) to drive clear and transparent execution and reporting. The person will collaborate with the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd lines of defense to manage risks within that functional area based upon guidance from management.

This position will support the business units in identifying/ reporting material control deficiencies and assessment of the effect on organizational objectives, ensuring risk owners have appropriate mitigation strategies that holistically address root cause, and collaborating with the business to achieve a competitive advantage through support of business unit initiatives.

The support activities include collaborating with Issue Owners, Risk and Compliance Officers (RCOs), SMEs and cross functional internal control partners to perform the following risk management activities:

  • Issue & incident triage
  • Support identification of appropriate owners to implement solutions to identified control deficiencies
  • Partner with stakeholders to complete root cause analysis. Define key controls and provide recommendations to remediate issue(s). Review remediation timelines to ensure alignment with GGRC requirements.
  • Provide guidance on steps to monitor control effectiveness
  • Support business units with global internal audits, regulatory exam requests, GGRC reviews, and other Internal Controls initiatives
  • Ensure meetings and critical decision points are clearly documented and communicated.
  • Provide periodic updates on project status and escalate issues to senior management and assist in issue resolution.
