The PayPal Global Collections team is responsible for ensuring the integrity of our revenue stream, facilitating business growth and market expansion.  Our primary objective is to reduce loss and collection expense globally.  The First Party relationship manager will stand up and oversee key partnership relationships and first party suppliers to minimize exposure to loss while also protecting the brand.

In this role you will be responsible for identifying, establishing, and managing the relationship of our First Party Collections vendors.  This important role allows collections to better manage our support of both growth and loss avoidance initiatives by leveraging our First Party relationships. 

What’s You’ll Do:

  • Work with the Leadership Team to support and help drive the location strategy for Global Collections
  • Understand the short and long-term strategy objectives of Global Collections and the place that First Party vendors play within that strategy
  • Identify potential First Party partners through a robust selection process; manage the Request for Proposal (RFPs) and Statement of Work (SOW) process to onboard new First Parties
  • Collaborate with a wide range of groups such as Collections Operations, Quality Assessment, Procurement, Legal & Compliance and Finance as well as other groups around the Enterprise to stand up and manage our First Party vendors
  • Lead efforts in digging into First Party performance which will consist of coaching, quality, teammate performance, hitting goals, attendance, hour fulfilment etc.
  • Work to Continuously Improve the quality and performance of support from our First Parties
  • Develop a strong relationship with First Party representatives and management through frequent interaction e.g. Monthly Business Reviews
  • Strategically support the team with any ad hoc reports or projects.

Required Skills

  • Business Acumen: Solid understanding of how the Collections businesses operates (both internal and external) including current and possible future business trends and information. Strong awareness of how any given program will positively impact the enterprise
  • Problem Solving: Be Innovative. Ability to derive creative solutions to help stakeholder groups and the program remove barriers to deliver success. Develop and present varied and unique approaches to help teams meet their goals.
  • Comfort around Senior Management: Deals comfortably with Senior Director and VP level stakeholders. Understands how senior managers think and work. Ability to adjust communications to Executive audiences, broad stakeholder audiences, and working teams as appropriate
  • Negotiating: Reach appropriate resolution across peers and extended teams in many varied situations without damaging internal or external relationships.

About You

  • 10+ years of relevant experience and/ or transferable skills including project management
  • Excellent written, verbal and in-person communication skills 
  • Relationship driven (rather than transactional drive) mindset 
  • Problem solver with a contagiously positive attitude 
  • Organized and capable of handling competing priorities, time sensitive deliverables, and make informed decisions.
