Global Pricing is one of PayPal’s most prominent strategic finance functions. Global Pricing operates at the junction of strategy, product, and execution. We are trusted global thought leaders when it comes to our largest customers, our newest initiatives, and our most complex challenges. You will play a principal role in driving transformational changes to PayPal’s pricing function and help drive pricing strategy and execution. You will be engaging in both daily commercial negotiations and long term pricing strategy.

You will be a part of the Global Pricing organization, supporting PayPal’s largest business within North America. We focus on the success of PayPal’s North America business unit by driving quantitative insights, ensuring proper financial controls and discipline. Aligning and improving processes to increase efficiency and foster faster decision making by benchmarking best practices across Americas and implementing new ideas to positively impact pricing performance. This role requires an understanding of the e-commerce landscape and the business models for the partners that integrate on behalf of merchants. You will need to understand pricing strategies, large enterprise and partner ecosystems, needs of customers and PayPal solutions to uncover opportunities and design partner specific financials models. In this role, you will gain exposure to a wide variety of pricing projects, strategies and responsibilities.

  • Beginning with our core business, you will manage commercial negotiations with our customer portfolio and work closely with cross-functional leads from sales, finance, core payments, risk, marketing, and operations.
  • Collaborating with the Business Unit to make educated pricing decisions and supporting the growth of the business. You will also help put together financial models, pricing proposals and sales strategy to determine impact on business unit and P&L by managing the incoming pricing requests.
  • Create business cases to justify marketing, integration, and other customer facing investment activities.
  • Perform portfolio level look-back analysis on pricing and deal performance; leverage insights to optimize pricing strategies and business development terms

Additional Job Responsibilities:

  • Deploy best-in-class pricing models and analytics to develop compelling, insightful recommendations for senior management
  • Creatively structure commercial deals with complex, ambiguous, and potentially charged business issues
  • Use financial and competitive insights gained through rigorous analysis and research to achieve alignment between price, value, and business objectives
  • Job Qualifications (required):
  • 4 – 6 years of relevant business and finance experience
  • Strong big-picture strategic thinking with highly structured approach to problem-solving
  • Robust excel-based financial modeling skills
  • Excellent powerpoint presentation skills (or eager to learn the skillset)
  • Ability to crystalize complex topics and experience presenting to executive audiences
  • Highly inquisitive, proactive, and able to work both independently and in small teams

Job Qualifications (desired):

  • Master’s degree or CFA credential
  • Payments experience (merchant acquiring, card issuing, other digital payments / fin tech)
  • Transactional experience in financial services (IB, PE, capital markets)
  • Analytics / statistical modeling experience, comfort with large datasets, SQL
