Position #: 93259631 Req #: Business Title: Finance Systems and Process Support Hiring Manager: Tom Hoover Job Description: PayPal is seeking a Finance Systems and Process Support Analyst to join its Finance Operating Model (FOM) organization within Finance, specifically on our Finance Systems and Process Support team (FSPS). The person in this position will work closely with SAP and other technical teams as well as the business teams within all Finance functions to ensure that Finance application activities are aligned and managed in accordance with PayPal’s and Finance’s strategy as well as planned and prioritized in the most efficient manner in order to achieve optimal usage of resources and deliver maximum business benefit. Job Responsibilities: As a primary responsibility, this position will provide system maintenance and business process support for SAP ECC and other Finance systems, such as Quantum, EMT, Blackline, FCA, and act as a trusted business partner to ensure business processes and system governance activities are performed and maintained in a timely and accurate manner. This position will work closely with Finance functional teams to further the overall execution and documentation of business processes, regular system maintenance and governance processes, functional and technical system support activities, and delivery of system and process enhancements and projects. This position will facilitate regular communication channels and forums to align on planned business activities and required system maintenance requirements related to the day-to-day operations across the broader Finance organization, including the Accounting Controllership, Treasury, FP&A, Finance Operating Model, and related PayPal technical teams.


The scope of responsibilities will include:

  • Perform daily system maintenance and business processes, including system administration activities and certain daily business processes as required to support business customers and meet required business process timelines. 
  • Review and document both business and system processes that are performed by the FSPS team. Update documentation regularly as needed as business and system processes are enhanced or otherwise changed.
  • Facilitate communication between our Finance business teams, FOM, and technical teams regarding daily operational, reporting, and compliance related system and business processes.
  • Perform necessary system governance activities as they relate to SOX and external audit requirements.  Participate in and help facilitate regular internal and external audit activities and provide required audit documentation in a timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain end-user training materials using standard department tools and storage mediums.
  • Work in conjunction with business and technical teams to prepare for, assist with, and complete UAT activities as they related to FSPS system supported enhancements and upgrades.   Assist in the completion of all required change process documentation.
  • Collaborate with and support FOM teams to ensure compliance with all required processes, including those managed by our Change Management, Project Management, Automation, and Process Controls teams.
  • Identify areas for improvement as they relate to both system governance processes as well as overall business processes to improve overall efficiency and provide for a better customer experience.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.   Computer Science, Computer Engineering, MIS or related filed is preferred.
  • 5 years background in IT related job roles.
  • 5 years of experience with financial applications, processes, and systems.  SAP and Blackline experience required.
  • 5 years of experience in business facing responsibilities including business and systems process support and documentation, understanding of business processes and end-user training.
  • Prior experience in release management with exposure to IT operations management and good knowledge of IT governance processes, including the software development lifecycle.
  • Aptitude for trouble shooting, root cause analysis, and process pain point identification.
  • Ability to work in an support and advisory capacity with key business partners.
  • Strong communication skills as this is a business-facing position, requiring periodic business reviews, training sessions, and regular interaction with the business.
  • Good written skills with the ability to produce clear and concise process related documentation.
  • Affinity for a high-performance, project-oriented work environment; ability to pivot to critical path tasks as necessary.
