A typical day for the Enterprise Sales Executive will include • Develop and implement a strategic business plan to acquire new merchants for PayPal Australia • Be an expert on PayPal, alternative payment products and the payments industry. • Possess strong business acumen, with a demonstrable track record of individual performance as a sales professional. • Demonstrate fluency in e/mCommerce ecosystem knowledge and familiarity with a variety of services that Merchants would utilize together with PayPal (i.e. shopping carts, payment gateway services) would be very beneficial

What does Success Look Like?   (roles and responsibilities)

  • Partner closely with local, regional and global teams to identify opportunities for new PayPal merchants
  • Using proven sales methodologies to drive penetration into Share-of-checkout for PayPal new customers.
  • Identify, analyze and develop new business opportunities with Large Merchants or Merchants in emerging / complimentary industries by direct sales or via partners (e.g. e-commerce platforms, system integrators, web developers, payment Service providers etc.)
  • Consult to merchants on PayPal based payment solutions, quantify and articulate value.
  • Plot acquisition strategies for targeted Merchants, negotiate commercial terms/contract documents, and close deals in timely manner.
  • Develop a network to reach targeted Merchants, maintain strong relationships with executive level decision makers
  • Coordinate internal operation support teams and integration support team to provide necessary support for setting up PayPal at each new merchant.
  • Act as primary, business development liaison with internal key contacts (Sales, Marketing, Integration, Product, Operations, Finance, Legal, Risk, Compliance etc) for Merchant acquisition and problem resolutions.
  • Improve business by generating new and practical ways of doing things in order to solve problems and gain advantage in competition.

About You:   (these are the basic qualifications)

  • 10 years+ experience in a Corporate Sales or Solution Sales is required. 
  • Experience in e-commerce  e-marketing, mobile, telecommunication, digital goods, travel, financial services industry, or Payment Service industry is a plus.
  • Proven success /track record as a high performing sales person
  • Ability to demonstrate strong pipeline management discipline
  • Familiarity with sales methodologies for account planning e.g. SPIN, TAS, and Challenger etc.
  • Experience in interacting directly with business customers, consultative selling, and / or contract negotiation is preferred.
  • Must have deep insight and broad knowledge with regards to Internet / Mobile, such as Mobile ecosystem, Online / Social Gaming, Digital Goods, e-Commerce.
  • Strong business acumen; insights into what drives our Merchants’ businesses required.
  • Working cross functionally in a complex, matrixed MNC required. 
  • Experience using Microsoft Office products, including: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
  • Experience using CRM and reporting tools in a sales environment.
  • English language skills.
