As iZettle is growing rapidly, so is our Tech department. We are now looking to strengthen our team of Tech Managers. Go where the people speak your language

Our Tech function is organised into a number of alliances with areas and teams, some focusing on external product areas and some units with internal client-facing focus. We are now looking to strengthen our alliances with additional Tech Managers. As Tech Manager you will have the people responsibility of employees and will lead people within several different competence areas - what we call chapters: for example Backend, Web, Data Engineering etc. As a Tech Manager you will be a member of the Tech Management group and report directly to the Alliance Tech Manager. You will be working closely with Area Product and Design Leads.

As Tech Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • People : Developing, training and nurturing your direct reports, as a leader you foster your employees talent, create meaningful performance and development conversations and encourage career growth based in line with both functional delivery and company culture. You keep track of staffing and ensure you have the right people in the right place - at the right time.

  • Organisation: as Tech manager, you work closely with your fellow leads in Product & Design to set vision and direction for your product area but also play a key role in shaping the vision for broader product organisation. You communicate this effectively across your team and as a leader, you create environments based on trust, where teams can perform and have the necessary skills, tools and mandate to work in a self-organized way. Overall you grow a healthy, collaborative engineering culture in line with the company values. 

  • Operations:  You scope clear, engaging team missions, facilitating teamwork towards a common goal. You provide clear goals and expected outcomes for the teams and facilitate understanding, measuring and celebrating those achievements along the way. You  proactively drive cross-area/department ways of working, encourage improvements and remove impediments the teams cannot resolve themselves.

 

Skills to create thrills 

You have a proven record of managing and leading engineering teams and take joy and pride in developing and growing people. Agile development environments have no secrets for you and you thrive in quick-moving, evolving organisations. Furthermore you have: 

  • A pragmatic, solution-oriented approach with a clear understanding of getting things done

  • Skills and extensive experience in software engineering and bring an understanding of engineering teams, what makes them thrive and excel and how to support them to get there 

  • Ability to zoom in and zoom out as needed, you can focus on the details without losing sight of the big picture

  • Role model skills, you embody the behaviours and ways of working you want to see in your team every day, are comfortable challenging the status quo
