PayPal is looking for a Security Engineer who will be responsible for the monitoring and maintenance of enterprise data loss prevention products and services. The candidate will design and implement security monitoring policies, perform data analytics, and continuously monitor and improve the effectiveness of the DLP solutions to ensure the safety of information while in use (endpoint actions), in-motion (network traffic), and at-rest (data storage).

Essential Functions of the Position:

  • Design and configure new DLP policies within the tool to detect sensitive data exfiltration.
  • Build processes to handle data exfiltration incidents
  • Work with DLP and User Behavior Analytics (UBA) products and services to detect and alert on data exfiltration
  • Create and implement use cases to detect advanced threats.
  • Design, develop and recommend on security DLP solutions
  • Monitor and track remediation activities to address weaknesses and issues discovered through security reviews
  • Able to understand and follow incident response processes and collaborate with internal and external support teams to drive resolution.
  • Respond to any inquiries and provide training awareness when appropriate
  • Work with the DLP support team to identify and address monitoring gaps, weaknesses and configuration issues
  • Be data driven in decision making through the creation of analytics reports.
  • Help to ensure regulatory compliance and that all audit related issues are appropriately tracked and remediated

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering OR equivalent work experience
  • Good working knowledge with SQL and regex
  • Experience with DLP analysis work
  • Ability to dive into analyzing big data for anomalies
  • Knowledgeable in Information Security field
  • Possess high level of maturity, discretion and judgment
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Highly motivated, goal driven, innovative, curious and open minded
  • Good oral and written communication skills
