We are seeking a key leader to lead the development and implementation of all aspects of the executive learning strategy. This position will collaborate with our most senior leaders to build an executive development portfolio. This role will be responsible for bringing in new and innovative approaches to learning while using development as a key retention lever for our talent.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the translation of PayPal’s business strategy into thoughtful and innovative leadership development practices.
  • Collaborate with executive leadership team to assess needs and gauge effectiveness of established and/or new programs.  
  • Build the infrastructure and implement a framework to identify and develop the PayPal global leadership pipeline. Define the competencies, skill sets and attributes to reinforce the diversity of PayPal culture.
  • Work in partnership with the Executive and Human Resources leadership team to fine tune the approach for development and deployment of various learning and development programs and initiatives.
  • Act as a trusted and credible partner who anticipates needs and proactively recommends solutions
  • Conduct talent needs assessment and develops/engages the appropriate resources to drive appropriate course of action and solutions; scans for future trends internally and externally
  • Build and oversees relationships with key outside partners and vendors. 
  • Leverage employee listening system and other data insights to make talent recommendations that drive culture and engagement and improves organizational performance
  • Ability to translate broad, longer term vision and objectives into specific milestones and goals to deliver executive learning and development initiatives for the business
  • Foster a climate of inclusion where diverse thoughts are freely shared and integrated to develop plans and solutions that are best suited to the circumstances
  • Develop and use actionable HR metrics to provide insights that help drive business decisions

Required skills:

  • 10+ years of Learning and Development experience in roles of progressively increasing scope and in matrixed, high-growth, global organizations.
  • Experience in a high profile, strategic HR role with heavy executive-level interface and a high degree of executive influence.
  • Proven, progressive experience and demonstrated effectiveness leading learning & development related initiatives and programs.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with experience in facilitation/presentation. Captivating facilitator/storyteller.
  • Strong team leader with exceptional mentoring skills
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or equivalent experience is required with a preference for an advanced degree in Human Resources or Business Administration
  • Analytical and critical thinking with a metrics-driven approach to solutions and the ability to leverage analytics and insights to create compelling narratives for change to gain sponsorship.  
  • The ability to root-cause issues, match people strategies to business strategies, and deliver global programs that drive results.
  • A deep business acumen and the executional know how of building and growing businesses globally through the ongoing development and supports of its people.
  • The ability to synthesize complex situations into a digestible format for the business leaders and their teams.
  • Team oriented consensus builder who understands how to achieve buy-in from diverse constituencies, building bridges and designing “win-win” solutions across a matrix management organization.
  • The ability to flourish in a rapidly changing organization and operate comfortably with ambiguity and complexity.
