We are PayPal’s Nextgen Financial Services team and are seeking a high caliber, Director of Product. We are looking for a customer centric product leader with a strong track record in building successful customer facing products, leading multiple cross-functional teams, strategic leadership and creating a culture of excellence. We are looking for a leader who can innovate and work with a fast-paced startup urgency and approach, who can change the industry in how purpose driven products are built. As an inclusive leader who empathizes with diversity of thought and is passionate about building products that are inclusive of customers no matter what their race, income level, gender or ethnicity is. You will envision products that are disruptive and accelerate innovation to improve the financial health of our customers. You balance urgent and effective action, commitment to excellence, and taking initiative to resolve problems. You will manage a small, agile and creative team of product managers who are passionate about transforming the financial landscape for everyone.

Responsibilities:

  • Formulate a long and short-term product strategy to develop breakthrough products based on deep customer insights, a strong understanding of the future of financial services and leverage the unique differentiators of PayPal’s ecosystem.
  • Develop clear product roadmap and drive execution across the organization by developing trusted relationships with stakeholders and making strategic tradeoffs informed by data and driving execution.
  • Build and lead a team of high performing product managers by creating an environment where each team member does the best work of their lives and attracting top talent.
  • Be a thought leader inside and outside the company on the topics of financial inclusion, financial health, financial services, and purpose driven product management.
  • Own business outcomes and be responsible for meeting and exceeding revenue targets. 
  • Anticipate and remove obstacles that slow down or prevent us from delivering on product and program objectives.
  • Create and empower excellence in product management discipline by learning, training, and investing in improving and empowering product managers across the organization to work effectively.

Qualifications:

  • Deep understanding of financial services and customer behaviors.
  • Global mindset with ability to think about culture, language and other aspects to put the customer at the center of all outcomes.
  • Inspiring all levels of the organization with your product vision and customer passion and collaborating with excellence across all functions. This involves helping the teams move forward swiftly through rigor, speed and transparency in decision-making and removing roadblocks.
  • Identifying new opportunities based on research, industry trends and best in-class product management and innovation practices, by developing a data-driven point of view by leveraging customer/consumer science best practices and quantifying the opportunities.
  • Creating and managing global product roadmap, prioritization and constraints to ensure consistent execution of the product lifecycle process from concept to launch.
  • Building and leading a world class product/engineering/design organization in general. Particularly overseeing and developing a team of product managers to bring in industry best practices, empower them and help them achieve unbounded potential.
  • Knowledge of behavioral economics is highly desirable but not mandatory.
  • You have 10+ years of product management and 3+ years in a product leadership in a top tech company.
  • BA/BS required. You don’t need a CS degree, but you’ve have to be comfortable going deep on critical technology discussions.
