We are looking for a senior leader to lead the LATAM America GPS Team, as part of the GPS International team. This individual will need to have experiences building and leading technical teams across various of markets, strong business acumen, and ability to understand API integrations and preferably, payments industry background. This leader will also need to be experienced in leading senior and talented people managers and be able to support the team’s continue growth and development. Prior experiences in running Presales/Consulting/Solution and Integration teams are definitely a plus. The individual will lead a number of technical teams that are positioned to service their respective markets. He/She will also work closely with Revenue leadership and other cross functional leaders to build a collaborative and efficient work model, aiming to optimize bandwidth, cost and service level. The individual will lead and own the strategic planning and resource planning, in collaboration with cross functional leaders, to achieve our shared revenue target. The individual will also hire, retain, evaluate, coach and mentor technical talents and work with the rest of the Global Professional Services team in International. This position will be based in Mexico City.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and grow the existing LATAM teams across international markets, partnering with the existing on-site team leaders. This includes markets : LATAM, Mexico and Brazil.
  • Representing GPS LATAM team to strategize with the business to establish the collaboration model and put it in implementation, and ensuring scalability and coverage of integration support. 
  • Oversee the overall performance for GPS LATAM team. Establish and review KPIs and metrics to ensure the team achieves the target and skill developments. 
  • Establish and drive the right team behavior; optimize the value we can deliver to the business.
  • Uplevel the vision of the team based on business and market insights, and drive initiatives in team to move towards the right direction.
  • Understand the PayPal Products used in each of the market and be a customer advocate to the product teams.
  • Contribute to the GPS initiatives and develop long term strategies in scalability, better integration efficiencies and capabilities. 
  • Work closely with regional sales teams to identify and prioritize target markets, customers, and products that are in line with PayPal’s global objectives and commercial growth strategies
  • Drive thought partnership with core stakeholders, including product, sales ops, partners  to feed customer input from the integration activities into PayPal’s product strategy.
  • Representing the team in strategic discussions engaging with C-level executives from both internal and external parties. 


  • Strong analytic and problem-solving skills and ability to understand payments use cases on direct integration and partner platforms. 
  • Extremely comfortable communicating with C-level executives (both internal and external). Be able to contribute on market industry insights and technical acumens in key strategic discussions. 
  • Ability to be an advocate for the customer in a cross functional environment with proven track record of delivering projects and demonstrate leadership and influence among other senior leaders. 
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and experienced with influencing and persuasion. 
  • Understanding of payment economics and financials. Prior experience working with FinTech products, platforms and partners definitely a plus. 
  • Ability to understand and advocate for product/functionality needs, collaborate  with  internal  product and   technology   teams   to   define   the   necessary   development   to   support solution delivery
  • Ability to navigate a large cooperate environment and get the support the team needs from cross-functional teams. 
  • Ability to design and build scalable service models to optimize team’s efficiency and coverage.
  • Experienced in resource and capacity planning for technical teams, taking in considerations for people’s seniority, product availability, and solution complexity. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in integration management or sales engineering preferred
  • 16+  years of working experience involving Internet and mobile technologies, particularly frontend web programming. Prior experiences and knowledge with one or more of the following: 
    • HTTP, JavaScript, RESTFul APIs, JSON, OAuth, PHP, Python, Java
    • Firewalls, Proxies, TCP/IP, SSL, Network, InfoSecurity.
  • Good team player with collaborative approach and ability to forge constructive relationships with all stakeholders.
