Threat Management manages threats to the company by advising executives in making threat-informed and mitigating decision to protect the enterprise, products, and customer. Threat Management proactively protects PayPal from on-going and emerging threats through data-driven decisions based on cyber intelligence data, data analytics, and threat assessments. The organization consists of multi-disciplinary subject matter experts with a broad spectrum of industry experiences and deep analytical and quantitative expertise. The organization is seeking an experienced, driven, and collaborative leader to manage and guide the threat research teams responsible for threat hunting, analytics, and threat modeling of attacks against PayPal’s enterprise ecosystem.
This leadership role offers an opportunity to mature and drive a function equipped with industry leading security professionals to assess and document enterprise level threats.
Key responsibilities include:
Operating rhythms and routines: Manage operating routines that facilitate decision-making, autonomy, leadership alignment, and team engagement, inclusive of staff meetings, operational reviews, etc. Set the agenda, participate in the meetings, document decisions, and communicate outcomes
Planning and Portfolio Management: Guide the strategic and tactical directions for the team including inputs, outputs, deliverables, and maintenance of relationships with stakeholders across InfoSec, Risk, and Compliance
Innovative process improvement and effectiveness: Identify gaps and improvements, designing proposed changes, socializing with leadership, and developing policies and/or processes necessary to implement decisions made by the leadership team.
Strategic thinker: Bring outside-in thinking to the organization, highlighting industry observations that should be considered and evaluated.
Outcome and metrics tracking/reporting: Work closely with leaders across the organization to develop goals, objectives and results. Keep close track of performance against those goals to ensure that our key efforts and initiatives are aligned to our strategic priorities
Documentation : Maintain detailed documentation of projects, cases, and exploratory research
Maturation and development: Mature the processes and operating procedures of the organization
Job Requirements
5+ years of experience working within Information Security or a related field
3+ years of experience within threat-related roles such as threat management, threat intelligence, or similar
2+ years of leading or managing a team(s)
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate effectively and clearly to executive leadership.
Strong technical understanding of network fundamentals and Internet protocols
Ideal candidate should demonstrate history of critical and analytical thinking including problem solving, attention to detail, dealing with ambiguity, ability to handle shifting priorities/deadlines and multi-tasking
