We are seeking a technical leader with Sales and Salesforce experience to partner with the Sales & Marketing business verticals and leadership to help translate the transformative roadmap for these critical business units into technology solutions; enabling PayPal to compete in the ever evolving-changing business climate. We seek a leader who can strike the right balance of partner, innovator, leader and coach. The successful candidate will guide the maturation of the Sales & Marketing Technology team inclusive of change governance, technology skillset development, architecture, delivering a secure, compliant, multi-tenant Sales & Marketing platform for all PayPal branded businesses – current and future that will: • Empower these business verticals to compete and win • Enable Sales and Marketing professionals to view and act upon a 360-degree view of our Customers and Merchants • Deliver persona based offerings to ensure a rich and efficient experience

We seek a technical leader who has experience in Sales and Marketing; preferably with experience with the Salesforce platform and other COTS solutions. One who understands the nuance of leading, managing, guiding and influencing. A leader who recognizes the timing of when to lead from the front and from the rear. A leader who understands that we are in results business and outcomes matter.

Job Description:

The   Director of Development, ETX Sales & Marketing will deliver a modern, secure, resilient, scalable and multi-tenant platform that will enable PayPal’s growth. The successful leader will be seen as a coach who can guide the development organization from current state to state of the industry,  promote innovation, be data driven and be a trusted member of this organization’s leadership team while executing against the defined strategy-outcomes of both the Sales business team and the ETX technology organization.

Key responsibilities include:  

  • Trusted Technology Partner:   Develop  rich, influential and trusted partnerships with key business and technology partners. Demonstrate the ability to navigate internal networks, build internal consensus and lead from all dimensions as necessary.
  • Strategic Thinker and Innovator: Bring outside-in thinking to the organization, highlighting industry trends that should be considered and evaluated. Act as an innovator, disruptor and executioner in recommending strategies for all aspects of our Sales & Marketing technical footprint.
  • Platform Mind-Set: Rely on industry knowledge and experience to recommend the go-forward architecture and goals that will deliver the desired outcomes relating to platform security, scalability and resiliency.
  • Product Mind-Set: Develop a product mind-set that is focused on delivering the needs of the business. In a technology-enabled product organization, the staff exists to service the needs of your customers, within the constraints of the business.
  • Platform Gap Analysis: Assess gaps between current and target platform architectures, evaluate options, and develop appropriate recommendations leveraging PayPal's technologies in combination with 3rd party, open source and COTS products.
  • Lead-Manage-Coach the team: Be a dynamic leader who can instill PayPal’s values into the team and can inspire-develop the team to be a high-performing team that delivers the desired business results in a manner keeping with our culture.
  • Internal Consultant: Provide expertise to business units and colleagues across the company who are building platform, infrastructure, and database applications and frameworks.
  • External Voice: Represent PayPal to external  partners in building long-term roadmaps and influencing COTS product directions.

Candidate

The ideal candidate has proven experience in transforming technology architecture at scale in a fast-paced environment; applying strong technical, consultative skills, including business acumen, customer empathy, and the ability to influence and partner. This person thrives in a dynamic, global, fluid, matrix environment and is results-focused.  Is comfortable leading from both the front and the rear, as situations dictate. History in architectural transformation with proven results, outcomes.
