The DEATCH Marketing Lead is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of the full suite of Marketing Programs across all segments including consumer, SMB and large enterprise for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. This role, reporting to the VP of Marketing EU/AU, will be a critical partner to the DEATCH country and sales lead to help deliver ambitious commercial growth goals and create strategies that build a more engaged, active consumer base to fuel our two sided network. In that, working closely with product as critical business partner. Success will be defined by the delivery of customer outcomes including new customer acquisition, growing the customer value of our engaged customer base and in growing the brand esteem, momentum, and differentiation in market so that PayPal is positioned as the most highly valued payments platform & growth partner for sellers and businesses around the globe.

Core responsibilities:

  • Partner to DEATCH Country and Sales Leader to create market development plans and coordinate all marketing execution elements plus own local customer contact management
  • Responsible for the localization and execution of across the funnel Marketing Plans to deliver on customer and portfolio growth targets through key internal stakeholder teams within marketing and sales
  • Partner with PMM on growth strategies and ideas to explore white space and unlock growth in DEATCH; with that inform the product roadmap and support right level of product priotization for DEATCH.
  • Think and act both strategically and tactically - define local marketing investment opportunities and plans with commitment to analysis of business impact
  • Optimize the application and localization of global Consumer, SMB, and Enterprise strategies, programs and initiatives for execution in DEATCH with flexibility within a framework approach
  • Partner with Integrated Marketing to inform, optimize and localize brand elevation and an always on content program of information and education to educate and inspire consumers to use our products and solutions more often at more merchants.
  • Partner with SMB Marketing to inform, optimize and localize thought leadership programs and an always on content program of information and education to support & enable sellers to thrive in the global, mobile digital economy
  • Partner with sales leader to prioritize support of existing merchant portfolio and support of new business pipeline. Partner closely with Enterprise Marketing team to help define the right strategies required.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Partner and Network marketing to support the transformation of our approach to merchant co-marketing aiming to create more mutual value creation for PayPal, its merchant partners and our consumers. With that, lead execution of segment marketing programs for priority products with focus on QR, Wallet and credit. Also position PayPal as a champion for Consumers, SMBs and Large Enterprise Merchants
  • Partner effectively with internal teams to deliver best in class marketing. Deliver world class marketing briefs to our internal partners to enable co-creation of game changing marketing programs. Partner with our Performance Marketing Team to move core customer metrics across our funnels and to optimize the reach and effectiveness of our channels, partner with Product Marketing to operationalize the value proposition for our target segments and partner with the Sales Team to accelerate the sales pipeline through all of our distribution channels.
  • Support launch and implementation of Enterprise marketing organization with focus on account-based marketing. Create Enterprise brand recognition and preference for PayPal in DEATCH
  • Manage, mentor and inspire the German Marketing Team to achieve their goals, to contribute to the business and to develop, learn and grow while they build a successful marketing career at PayPal
  • Play a leadership role within the European Team and the broader Performance Marketing Team. Contribute to building a high-performance marketing team renown for accountability, executional excellence, business impact and teamwork while also building a values based culture across marketing.

Experience required:

  • Senior Marketing Leader with experience in leadership roles
  • Global Operator with track record in working empathetically with stakeholders across multiple geographies
  • Portfolio Management - has managed complex portfolios across dynamic products and segments
  • Commercial Owner experience in budget & P&L accountabilities, linkage of investment to growth strategies
  • Brand expertise and understanding of integrated marketing and comms strategies
  • Growth Marketer - demonstrated capabilities in developing insight led test and learn approach across end to end funnel for customer and business impact
  • Customer Champion with demonstrated track record in designing marketing solutions with customer at center
  • Winning Consumer and B2B Marketing Strategies – you have implemented game changing campaigns that have improved both business and brand impact
  • Proven people management experience in hiring, retaining and coaching individuals/a team for peak performance
  • GTM programmatic execution with programs that have been scalable, yet needed to be locally nuanced
  • Payments, Retail and In Store experience highly valued
