The PayPal Technology Platforms and Experiences (TPX) organization is looking for a collaborative and strategically oriented operations professional to join the Business Operations team that supports the TPX CTO and Leadership Team. This individual will support the Sr. Director, TPX Business Operations and will help enable a range of multi-disciplinary initiatives to help shape, implement, and manage the organization’s operations and strategy. The role requires a high degree of relationship management (internal and external) to the Product and Technology team. Stakeholders include executives across the enterprise, product management, engineering teams, Finance, HR and many others.

As the Director, TPX Business Operations, you’ll be essential in driving and leading the internal operational messaging and positioning for the organization. You’ll work cross-functionally with technology organizations, product teams, developers, and partner with corporate communications partners on the strategic development of content to support the TPX organization internally within PayPal.

Ideally, you’re a big thinker with the ability to execute. A strategic, independent, self-motivated storyteller who is capable of adapting quickly to a fast-paced environment. 

Your responsibilities: 

  • Work with technology leaders representing infrastructure, security, data, architecture, developer experiences and employee experiences to formulate and develop our internal TPX positioning and messaging framework, value proposition and narrative
  • Support content development within the TPX organization, including Operations Reviews at the Senior Leadership level, All Hands at the TPX Organization level, Platform Central content initiatives through Sharepoint
  • Participate in brainstorming sessions, develop content wireframes, review presentation development, aggregate content and inject creative execution
  • Partner with technology leaders to provide technical writing support for documentation, storyboard drafts, and content outlines
  • Create foundational templates, graphics and guidelines for TPX organization presentations
  • Present clear ideas and concepts to stakeholders and lead design and content strategy
  • Work with cross-functional technology teams to develop content strategies that address the needs of our users and meet our business goals
  • Bring the TPX narrative to life through multimedia storytelling efforts
  • Host narrative and storytelling workshops to help engineers develop storyboarding skills
  • Define content strategy for key forums to support senior leadership and write clear and concise content for Ops Reviews, Technology Risk Reviews, All Hands, and Platform Central
  • Ensure messaging is consistent and on-brand across all channels and products

Qualifications

  • 10+ years working in interactive design environments (UX, marketing, curriculum, etc.) as a content strategist, technical writing, copywriter, creative director, or related position
  • Consulting / agency experience
  • Creative thinker with strong execution and organizational skills
  • A passion for technology and the ability to translate complex ideas into simple, clear concepts
  • Proven experience writing product messaging and positioning frameworks and developing differentiated value propositions.
  • Successful track record of delivering clear, compelling written communications and creating engaging content that breaks through with customers and achieves business results
  • Knowledge of, and a practitioner and advocate of human-centered design methodology
  • Ability to adapt quickly, be flexible and able to handle ambiguity
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Outstanding leadership and deep and unwavering commitment to diversity and inclusion
  • Strong collaborator with strong stakeholder management skills who enjoys working across teams
  • An eye for detail, great grammar, and proofreading skills
  • A great attitude and sense of humor is a plus!
