The Global Privacy Team’s mission is to protect critical customer data from misuse by consistently bringing a privacy-first mindset to a constantly evolving industry. We are seeking an experienced and passionate Privacy professional for M&As with privacy and technical depth, sector expertise and practical self-starter mindset to advise on M&As at an enterprise level for Data Privacy. The Privacy M&A team is part of the core cross-functional team that supports PayPal’s M&A activity led by Corporate Development. The Privacy M&A team is primarily responsible for data privacy due diligence, post merger integration and advisory support for minority investments, as well as coordination of integration activities performed by other workstreams within the compliance organization including record retention, data governance, third party risk management and consumer trust. The Privacy Advisory role for M&A, within this team will be responsible for driving and managing initial and conformatory due-diligence activities as it relates to all components of the global privacy organization under the Global Head of Data Privacy. This role will provide you with high visibility as this requires the ability to lead several process workstreams through explorations, gap analysis, integration planning, execution, and problem solving. The ability to work collaboratively with workstream leads and subject matter experts to arrive at risk-based approaches related to tactical execution steps is required.

Position Summary/Responsibilities:

Expectation of delivering industry-changing impact and tangible results

  • Lead large and complex M&A strategy projects
  • Current state review of existing processes, and technologies to deliver key findings and recommendations
  • Develop implementation strategy and roadmaps, with an initial focus on privacy regulatory compliance aligned with the global privacy program requriements
  • Perform day-to-day organization, process and technology data collection and analysis, interviews and discovery workshops
  • Identify and deliver on, process synergies by combining people, processes, and systems from Company and acquired companies
  • Facilitate and drive M&A-related decision making, including building consensus and driving decisions
  • Contribute to processes, tools, best practices, and training
  • Assist in leading internal initiatives to help continually improve the M&A practice and be responsible for fostering an open and inclusive work environment.

The successful candidates should also be able to offer a strategic perspective, sound business judgment, adaptability to changing priorities at hand, and be able to effectively work and communicate collaboratively / cross-functionally with multiple teams located in different geographies. Candidate must have a hands-on approach, strong intellectual curiosity and attention to detail and organization, and a passion for achieving practical business impact.

Qualifications/ Education/Experience/Skills:

  • Expert knowledge and 5-7 years of practical experience with common frameworks, standards and methodologies used in data privacy field.
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excitement and passion to spread the privacy culture.
  • Ability to navigate a complex organizational structure to drive results.
  • Proven track record of driving results and building effective relationships with all levels of management.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to multitask effortlessly and manage competing priorities under demanding deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly, manage projects and drive/achieve results, while working with minimal direction.
  • Experience with solving privacy challenges across cross functional teams.
