Designs, develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze unstructured, diverse “big data” sources to generate actionable insights and solutions for client services and product enhancement. Interacts with product and service teams to identify questions and issues for data analysis and experiments. Develops and codes software programs, algorithms and automated processes to cleanse, integrate and evaluate large datasets from multiple disparate sources. Identifies meaningful insights from large data and metadata sources; interprets and communicates insights and findings from analysis and experiments to product, service, and business managers. May use Scala, Pyspark, Python, HDFS, Spark, Cloud and ETL tools.

  • Support and manage the day to day data technology operations for PayPal.
  • Support the PayPal strategy for Data and ensure 3PL is aligned with country and regional business objectives including but not limited to cloud, M&A, emerging tech, etc.
  • Participate in the planning, coordination, direction, and design of data related initiatives,
  • Engage ecosystem partners, policy makers and local business partners in adhering to compliance and governance over all data matters for 3PL.
  • Plan and deliver reporting capabilities through data sourcing and dashboards to PayPal leadership
  • Support and coordinate data requirements for second line of defense in relation to regulatory requirements.
  • Provide timely and accurate technology reports to Technology Senior Management
  • Where required provide documented local technology process and procedures in support of enterprise technology data operations.
  • Work closely with department heads and managers in the identification, development, and implementation of cost-effective technology solutions for data utilization in the business,
  • Perform periodic reviews of the data availability and capabilities through regular testing and monitoring, providing regular reporting and retaining relevant records management.
  • Support the Enterprise Technology Data team with periodic data quality and accuracy reviews.
  • Support audits and regulated entities on technology data related matters,
  • Liaise with global IT resources for the evaluation, deployment, and management of all data processing systems and products,
  • Review compliance with the IT policy working with and supporting the second line of defense and oversight functions,
  • Identify, manage and escalate risk issues for resolution or mitigation.
  • Manage adherence to disaster recovery best practices and local regulations regarding storage and availability of customer data.
  • Continued assessment that appropriate systems and network infrastructure is in place to support current and projected PayPal business,
  • Operational integrity is maintained, through availability and regular reviews of supported processes and service management procedures,
  • Compliance with regards to data privacy, data retention and audit trails requirements,
  • Disaster recovery plans are in place and adequate for the requirements of the organization
  • Appropriate IT change and configuration management are in place and followed with required approval prior to production implementation.
  • Proper tools and processes are in place to ensure confidentiality of data as required by regulations
