Simility, a PayPal Service, is a new age end-to-end fraud prevention platform helping multiple Fortune 1000 companies manage their risk. Simility combines the power of data, machine learning and people to detect fraud. Our intuitive systems enable front-line fraud fighters with tools that empower them to put their domain expertise and knowledge to use – without needing to write a single line of code. Simility’s Data Analysts are comprehensive product experts who collaborate with customers and internal teams to ensure that their customers are successful in their deployments. They continually build upon and apply their technical knowledge and skills across the product suite at every level of the customer engagement. This person will exhibit and build upon the deep expertise to ensure that they can not only have a successful deployment but an extremely satisfied customer. The Data Analyst will also work on projects that affect many parts of the organization, including process improvements, coding custom scripts, recommending tools, etc.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Help understand the main customer issues around fraud and compliance 
  • Understand the nature of the data that is going to be provided and work with the customer to create and finalize a data schema that meets their needs 
  • Help populate the tables with data and do data regressions to understand the key parameters that may be indicative of fraud 
  • Analyze data to identify fraud patterns and optimize the system to flag these patterns 
  • Train the customer on using the Simility platform including the ability to write custom rules, triggers, etc. 
  • Provide feedback from customers to the product development team in an effort to continually improve the product 
  • Lead and participate in special projects/initiatives: innovate and implement large-scale quality improvements to processes and/or systems by conducting data analysis and making recommendations, troubleshooting technical issues, and refining processes around customer support 

Qualifications and Experience: 

  • BA/BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Mining or related field or equivalent practical experience. 
  • 2+ years experience in Data Analysis, Research, Risk and Fraud Investigation, Internet Industry or equivalent.
  • Experience with C/C++, Python, R, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, Perl or PHP
  • Demonstrated analytical thinking through data-driven decisions, as well as the technical know-how, charisma, and ability to work with your team to make a big impact. 
  • Knowledge of database structures and/or working with Unix/Linux would be a benefit.
  • good influencing and communication skills.
