PayPal’s Latin America Communications Director is seeking a rock star communicator who is creative, collaborative, and has killer instincts for what makes a compelling PayPal story in Brazil. The Latin America Communications team is part of a broader Corporate Affairs department that focuses on everything from executive, media and employee communications, to government relations and social innovation for all of PayPal – offering lots of opportunity to connect dots, learn and grow.

  • Collaborating with LATAM Communications Director to continue to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders to create and manage communications opportunities that elevate our key messages in Brazil among press and influencers.
  • Developing communications materials including press releases, byline articles, blog posts, media pitches, briefing sheets, media statements, internal communications, global toolkits.
  • Identify press opportunities to continue to leverage PayPal´s messages through tier 1 publications, as well as trade publications and among influencers.
  • Manage media inquiries and working with internal stakeholders to coordinate and respond accordingly.
  • Manage the Brazilian Blog in order to continue to gain traffic for this channel.
  • Coordinating, supporting and attending events such as press events, speaking engagements, workshops, as well as Executives’ internal employee All Hands and Town Halls, as needed in Brazil and abroad.

Requirements:

  • 8/9 years of PR experience, preferably a mix of agency and in-house experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public relations, communications or marketing. Fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish.
  • Comfortable serving as a business partner to executives, with the ability to look at and discuss opportunities with a business mindset first, communications second.
  • Proactive self-starter who can uncover and develop stories/content that resonate with external audiences (media, customers, partners, analysts) but can be repurposed for internal use as well.
  • Ability to build Communications projects in conjunction with partners from different verticals to leverage PayPal´s stories, testimonials and success cases.
  • Able to translate complex technical concepts into storylines that are understandable and compelling, generating strong media stories that showcase PayPal’s innovations and vision.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and also effectively collaborate within the Latam team environment.
  • Passionate about learning and bringing new ideas forward to drive business results.
  • Strong writing and verbal communications skills.
  • Excellent project management skills and ability to work in fast-paced environment.
  • Resilience, speed and grace under pressure.
  • Open to travel during the year.
  • Good sense of humor and ability to have fun.
