The Global Professional Services organization at PayPal is seeking a Business Training & Development Specialist supporting in the areas of product and technical training, instructional design and development.

Job Description

  • Plan, design and delivery of product & technical training content and materials for various roles within Global Professional Services (GPS) - sales engineers, integration and technical support teams – across segments and regions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders Sales, Product & Engineering to establish training requirements for GPS and determine materials to be developed.
  • Review and incorporate new approaches and external resources in technical documentation, specifications, mockups and product materials into the curriculum and training to drive learning and engagement.
  • Refresh and update training materials as needed, incorporating videos, diagrams, charts, mockups to illustrate material.
  • Work with the broader GPS Enablement team to develop associated communications to generate employee awareness and engagement.
  • Identify, drive and track key performance metrics in alignment with GPS goals and priorities; optimize training programs based on feedback.

Job Requirements

  • 7-10+ years of experience in an Instructional Design, Learning & Development, Technical Writing, Communications role or similar.
  • Undergrad or advanced degree in education, instructional design or related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Strong collaboration skills.
  • Ability to organize work independently and drive execution – create roadmaps, timelines and major milestones.
  • Ability to understand the language of developers and engineers and translate that understanding into a coherent eLearning experience.
  • Proven stakeholder management skills – including managing multiple partners simultaneously.

Desired Skills

  • Proficient with Instructional Design software (e.g., WorkRamp, Trailhead, MindTickle, Adobe Captivate, etc.)
  • Adept at Adobe Creative Suite (e.g., Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat), stock photography use and manipulation, and audio/video production.
  • Skilled with Microsoft Suite (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
  • Experienced with Seismic, Confluence, SharePoint is preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Instructional Design/Training/Comms experience desired in one of the following areas: documentation of systems or programs, training manuals, installation guides, methods and procedures manuals, and articles regarding technical subject matter, e.g., products, systems, and facilities for technical newsletters or magazines.
  • Payments experience preferred.
