In support of our acceleration in digital currencies we recently created a new unit inside PayPal focused on blockchain, crypto and digital currencies (BCDC). This new business unit will be responsible for building and managing a robust platform, technology infrastructure, partnerships, and regulatory foundations to support and grow our existing buy, sell, hold functionality, as well as to drive continued innovation in the space. As a Business Systems Analyst for PayPal’s Blockchain, Crypto and Digital Currencies unit, you will help shape the foundation for the next generation of financial services. You will work with a globally distributed, diverse, cross-functional team to create a more accessible, efficient, and inclusive way to perform commerce. Your work on data analysis and insights will support PayPal’s existing cryptocurrency products, innovation in digital assets, as well as contributions to PayPal’s larger compliance insights platform and data solutions (CIPDS) organization.

What you’ll do:

  • Collaborate with business partners to understand the business problem and translate problems into proof-of-concept products.
  • Be the domain expert on Crypto and provide insights to senior leadership.
  • Capture and document product requirements and partner with our engineering team to develop those products.
  • With minimal guidance, develop a product strategy for the specific area and lead project execution.
  • Represent the product to peers across PayPal for feedback on new feature ideas.
  • Facilitate technical discussion and provide feedback and input in architectural design.

About You:

  • A computer science graduate or undergraduate degree or 3+ years of industry experience in business systems analysis on big data platforms.
  • Technical experience related to BI and/or data warehouse development.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL query language.
  • Working knowledge of Hadoop, Map-Reduce, Hive, Pig, AI/ML.
  • Ability to draw on technical background to work with both business and development teams.
  • Experience with BI / EDW solutions in a large-scale enterprise environment, such as Teradata.
  • Good in Analytics throughout product lifecycle – documentation, communication and systems.
  • Ability to engage with business users and understand their needs.
  • Problem solver and innovative thinker.
  • Ability to work with and across teams in an agile environment. Experience in agile project development life cycle a strong plus.
