In PayPal, we leverage business rules engine to support a variety of business cases like fraud prevention, legal regulation, company policy, customer contact routing etc. Decision Operation Management (DOM) team is in the position to manage all the business rules and supporting Rules Engine integration for different business domains. Primary Job Responsibilities

In PayPal, we leverage business rules engine to support a variety of business cases like fraud prevention, legal regulation, company policy, customer contact routing etc. Decision Operation Management (DOM) team is in the position to manage all the business rules and supporting Rules Engine integration for different business domains.

Job Requirements:

  • Business rules management work supports different business areas, including rules review, release, governance, training & documentation etc.
  • Responsible for translating internal stakeholder business and policy requirements into specific systems or process designs for rule management solutions
  • Possesses a sense of responsibility, ownership and a strong, positive customer focus.  Must be results focused and highly energetic to drive the defined team and organizational goals 
  • Coordinate with business teams and/or platform teams as needed to monitor/ troubleshoot/resolve rule release issues
  • Design and implement business solutions to help improve process and ensure the quality of business decisions
  • Ability to work independently, comfort with ambiguity, and ability to deliver within strict time frames
  • Self-starter, desire to learn additional system and product knowledge, as well as new skills

Basic Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree with 2+ years professional experience, or 2+ years of industry work experience within relevant role
  • Data driven mindset with degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics.
  • Knowledge of SQL and one or more of these DB’s - MySQL, Oracle, Teradata
  • Familiar with scripting languages (Shell, Python, etc.)
  • Track record of working within a fast paced, dynamic, team-oriented environment.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in payments, financial services industry preferred
  • Experience in business rules engine is a plus
