The Braintree Information Security team’s mission is to support PayPal and our merchants with security tools, systems, and feedback by applying engineering principles to Information Security. The Information Security team is responsible for making sure all of our products are designed and implemented to the highest security standards.

Braintree is hiring a Security Engineer that will work with the team to ensure our services are secured to the highest standard. The ideal candidate will share our passion for engineering solutions to complex security problems while minimizing friction. As a security engineer, there are multiple types of roles and teams that you can have an impact on. Here are some of the things you might do:

  • Write code and develop systems and tools to improve Braintree security
  • Help us build features that will protect our merchants
  • Perform security assessments, working closely with development teams on identifying security issues in their code and finding solutions to provide required functionality securely
  • Work on sensitive security and fintech-related issues, including securing financial transactions and personal information
  • Build cloud tooling to automatically monitor and enforce AWS security best practices
