The Team – Global Marketing Operations Transformation & Enablement:

Historically, all Regions (NA, EMEA, APAC) have run separate Marketing functions and have had different operational set ups. As part of the Global Marketing transformation program, all regional teams have been consolidated in to one and the new Global Marketing Operations Transformation & Enablement team has been established. The Global Marketing Ops Transformation & Enablement team are tasked with designing and driving this bold new operating model, establishing a blueprint for the future where people, process and technology come together as one. Creating new ways of working that elevate our ability to deliver our marketing plans and innovate continuously. The team are very well regarded, highly skilled and innovative with over 220 full time and agency support staff building our organization structure, process and technology for change. For you to succeed on this team it is important for you to be comfortable working with a high degree of autonomy, to continuously learn and have a curious mindset, to understand and help drive a DevOps Culture, to be proactive, collaborative and to have a sense of humour (optional).

Location: San Jose, London, Bangalore

Travel: Main destinations will include San Jose (Global HQ) & Global Hubs: New York, London, Singapore.

What will your week look like?

You are participating in the Scrum Ceremonies of the Data team and are dearly missed if you cannot attend. Everyone loves interacting with you. The team trusts, that with you around, no technical and architectural barriers exist. Week after week you are enabling marketing use cases with rapid Proof of Concepts and breaking the architecture. You are a star fire fighter. Even with all this happening around you, you are finding time to read and learn more about data technologies.

Skills to be used: Deep hands on knowledge of the data tools in PYPL ecosystem. Ubiquitous language used to articulate business or technical problems to drive knowledge acquisition for the team.

What will your quarter look like?

You have identified parts of the data architecture which need to be refactored and you are getting your hands dirty with refactoring – partner across PYPL organisation. You are defining the to-be state continuously and moving towards it. You are contributing to the next iteration of our operating model based on knowledge acquired. You are reviewing and contributing to help groom the backlogs of other technology and marketing teams. You are making other teams successful. You are reviewing key metrics, learning from mistakes and scaling up successful tests.

Skills to be used: Data modelling & architecture – Conceptual, Logical, Physical and Integration model.

Intra team collaboration and problem solving.

What will your year look like?

You are aligned and aware of the enterprise wide data vision. Your efforts in consolidation and simplification of the data architecture framework, standards and principles are clearly evident with citizen data scientists across the Marketing organization. All effort in pivoting and improving data reference architecture and data flows can be celebrated now as data dependent business cases are getting delivered at faster speed with quality. Infosec and compliance are most happy as security and governance is built in our data fabric.

Skills to be used: Marketing Domain understanding and how data drives the Marketing business.

Enterprise wide data and tool understanding with a Marketing domain lens.

Education & Experience required:

  • Technology degree Education or Marketing Degree with Technology certifications.
  • Multiple year, Data architecture project experience in Agile environments, working in Product and Platform thinking teams. Experience in Marketing domain.
  • Essential experience in managing multiple small/medium workstreams in parallel. 
  • Digital marketing experiences a big plus
