Job Description

Fueled by a fundamental belief that having access to financial services creates opportunity, PayPal (NASDAQ: PYPL) is committed to democratizing financial services and empowering people and businesses to join and thrive in the global economy. Our open digital payments platform gives PayPal’s 305 million active account holders the confidence to connect and transact in new and powerful ways, whether they are online, on a mobile device, in an app, or in person. Through a combination of technological innovation and strategic partnerships, PayPal creates better ways to manage and move money, and offers choice and flexibility when sending payments, paying or getting paid. Available in more than 200 markets around the world, the PayPal platform, including Braintree, Venmo and Xoom enables consumers and merchants to receive money in more than 100 currencies, withdraw funds in 56 currencies and hold balances in their PayPal accounts in 25 currencies.

In 2018, iZettle became part of the PayPal family. iZettle is on a mission to help small businesses succeed in a world of giants. Tens of millions of small businesses worldwide are still being underserved by the traditional players. By giving small businesses the tools to get paid, sell smarter and grow, we’re empowering them to reach their full potential. Together with PayPal, we can reach 24 million merchants across the world with more of the affordable tools they need to thrive. Join us in putting an end to the ordinary way the world defines financial freedom.

At iZettle we all believe that it takes originality and an open mind to start your own Business. While we take pride in how far we have come in helping Small Businesses to succeed in a world of giants, we have no intention of sticking to known patterns or old truths. To carry out our revolution and move further in our quest to democratise financial services, we lean on our People and keep our doors open for more groundbreakers to be part of our journey.

In this spirit, we are on the lookout for an experienced Android Developer to join one of our Teams shaping up iZettle's Payments Solutions. In this role, you will join a group of brilliant People (Product Managers, Mobile Developers, QA Engineers, more) working on making our Merchants' everyday experience best-in-class. Part of our Money Alliance, the SDK Platform Team is built around Payments SDK allowing Merchants to make card payments in iZettle Apps and Partner Apps with iZettle card readers. Together with other iZettlers, you will contribute in creating a tailored User Experience for our Merchants and great public API for our Partners. While the Team will be there to help you out, it's crucial for you to bring in an expertise in API Design and how to consume them. Last but not least, this role will also offer regular opportunities to co-elaborate with other Teams and Android Developers across iZettle's Android chapter, from code reviews to bouncing ideas and mob programming.

Small minds never helped small businesses...

Grounded and humble, you naturally bring out the best in those around you by inspiring others and you consider open communication and transparency as great core values for a company culture. You share your knowledge, experience and opinions without ever losing sight of the importance for everyone to have a chance to contribute to the team's success. Lastly, you make it fun!

Your mission, should you choose to accept it:

  • Work on tackling all sort of exciting challenges together with talented peers in cross-functional Agile Teams;

  • Steadily experiment and learn more about design, technology and processes;

  • Ensure a high level of quality, usability and maintainability of the (reusable) components and code.

The skills to succeed:

  • A good understanding of the interaction between hardware and software products;

  • A first experience or/and a keen interest in working with bluetooth;

  • A thirst for writing testable, maintainable code;

  • A quality first mindset combined with a inner ability for writing tests and caring for the overall performance of the product;

  • A constant appetite for keeping up-to-date with the latest technological developments / innovations;

  • A genuine motivation for joining a (truly) collaborative work environment spiced up with remarkable social and communication skills in English.

Get bonus points if...

  • You have designed and maintained libraries/APIs used by others;

  • You have experience in working with SDK integrators;

  • You have experience with payments transactions in FinTech.

Sounds like you?

Great! Bring your talent to our attention and let's take things further! We’d love to hear from you so go on... Hit apply and/or let's talk!
